The first week of February is here! Lots to do this week, here we go:
Letters Z, K; sight words And, Go
Our book is To Town.
Math: working on part/part/whole with the number 6
We continue to work on writing and guided reading. Books will begin to be sent home next week!
Just a few extra classroom notes:
Please note that the morning school bell rings at 8:20 and class begins at 8:35. For those of you dropping off your child in the morning, it is important that they be here on time each day. There are many learning opportunities happening the first part of the day, and to miss out on any part of these truly impacts the success of your child for the day. To come in late many times begins to negatively impact on their year as well.
Also, toys for recess and show and share are absolutely fine, but when they start to interfere with your child’s learning they will be put away until the end of the day. We have had some incidents where students are playing with their toys instead of getting ready for the day, or playing with them when they should be working on their daily assignments. If you could remind your child about this it would be greatly appreciated.
Speaking of Show and Share, make sure you check your child’s back pack as the calendar was sent home yesterday!
Other things to be mindful of:
Winter Olympics are quickly approaching. We are going to have a school spirit day on Friday, February 7th to help kick off the Olympics. It will be dress in red/white colors or any other Canada day attire.
