Sorry to post something with a link that led nowhere! I guess I’ll stick with what I know for now. I wanted to get this out today, because the kids were so excited about this.
We had some fun today talking about the T-Rex, and we learned a few things along the way. I told them about a T-Rex fossil I saw in Chicago named Sue. Sue is the most complete T-Rex fossil ever found, and scientists have learned a few things about the T-rex that they didn’t know before. For instance, the T-Rex didn’t stand up on like many of our toys show us. Instead, they leaned forward more like a bird, which led us to the next item, dinosaurs were probably more like birds than lizards.
Today, we measured out the length of a T-Rex and compared it to different places in the school:
We learned the T-Rex wouldn’t fit in our classroom!
The hallway by the library might work, of course the ceiling might get in the way:
The hallway by the bathrooms works for length:
But the best fit was the hallway from the doors by the shoe rack to the wall with the mural:
We had some thoughts about the T-Rex:
-It’s NOT SMALL!
-Does not stand up straight, but leans forward, like a bird
-12 Meters long!
-Longer than our classroom!
