What a difference a few hours makes! Woke up to freezing rain pelting my house and winds blowing my garbage cans over, to finishing the day with sunshine. Oh well, I guess that’s PEI weather for you! Here is what is in store for the week:
In literacy we are reading the book One Duck Stuck- it’s a really fun counting book about a duck who gets stuck in the muck and the animals who help him out. It’s also a great book about friendship and helping each other out, so we’ll be having a lot of fun with some of those concepts this week.
Our sight words are “he, she, me, said” and we are reviewing vowels and lower case letters, and the suffix “ing” (we are noticing this a lot in our reading).
The book also gets us ready to talk about Earth Day, farming, and conservation. I am looking forward to this, as the weather gets nicer we will be going for nature walks around the school property, planting seeds and watching them grow. We will be able to tie in many of our science, literacy, math, and social studies outcomes into all of this- should be lots of fun!
Important things to note:
1) Our Easter Seals assembly is Tuesday morning at 8:30. Please make sure your child is at school on time!
2) Guided reading books are due back on Thursday of each week. When they do not come back on time, it effects our guided reading lessons as we cannot always complete our activities without the books.
3) Tuesday is Day 3- library day!
4) Remember there is NO SCHOOL Friday or Monday due to Easter Weekend.
Have a great week! Hope to get some more pictures up soon!
