Some notes for this week:
We have introduced our “sight” words this week. Our word of the week is “see”. We are looking for this word in books and in poems, and when we leave the room we have to point to and say the “password”. We all seem to be doing really well with our first word!
This week we finish up our introduction to the alphabet. Next week we will focus more on individual letters, starting with the letter F.
We are doing many activities with apples this week. Today was an apple taste test, tomorrow we will be making apple prints, and on Friday we hope to make applesauce!
We are reading the big book “See What I Can Do” this week. It’s another great book to teach reading skills as well as sight words. We will be using this book a lot in the next few weeks as we will add Can and Do to our list of “passwords”.
I want to remind you that if you are planning on purchasing pictures, the money is due by the 16 (Thurs).
We were scheduled to participate in National Walk To School Day on Thursday. A note is being sent home, but please note that it has been postponed until Wed. Oct 22!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!
