I was out of town over the weekend and almost forgot to post the update! Here it is!

This week we are finishing up our Mrs. Wishy Washy series by reading The Hole in the Tub. We are adding on the sight word and, & working on the letter N and reviewing all of the letters covered so far.

We began our unit on patterns today. We are talking about same and different, and sorting by various attributes (colour, shape, size) this week.

The weather is cold, so make sure your child is dressed appropriately! We go out every day, unless it is pouring rain. Also, sounds like we are in for some “weather” this week, make sure your child has boots and snow pants! Because playing in the snow is one of the best things to do at recess time, and nothing is worse than being outside and being cold.

Remember that December 5 is a PD day, so there will be no school that day. Also, December 23 is the last day of classes before our break. We will be having our class party on that day.

Be looking for another post this week as I have some pictures to put up!

Have a good one,

Mrs. Marshall

Hello Parents:

Just a reminder- we go outside everyday, unless it’s raining. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately. This includes mittens, hats, snow pants, winter coats, and winter boots. Thank you.

This week we will be reading a new Mrs. Wishy-Washy book, “Wishy-Washy Day”. We are finishing up R and moving on to M. Our new sight word is ‘to’.

The letters covered so far: F,D,P,B,R, and M.

Sight words covered: can, see, do, the, in, to.

In math we will finish up numbers to 5.

In writing, we are beginning to think about how many words we will be writing and what sounds we hear in those words. In Kindergarten we learn to stretch out the words and write down the sounds we hear. We call this “Kindergarten writing” and it is exactly where we need to be at this time.

Remember there is no school on Friday due to the Professional Development Day.

Have a great week!

And remember: make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather!

Hello Parents!

It’s my favourite day of the year, the Sunday after Daylight Savings Time ends. I love it for various reasons, mostly because of that wonderful “extra hour”. We had a great day on Friday. Wore our costumes, ate some food, played, ate some food, played games, ate some food… (you get the idea). Here’s what’s in store for this week:

We are beginning a new book/author study- we will be reading the Mrs. Wishy-Washy series this month. These are fun stories about a woman, Mrs. Wishy-Washy, her animals, and the struggles they get into. We will have a lot of fun with these books!

So far, our sight words have been See, Can, Do. This week we will add The. Our letters have been: F, D, P and this week we will add B and R.

In math we will do more with the numbers 4 and 5.

The room has been moved around a bit, the children will see on Monday. I hope they enjoy the surprise!

Things to take note of this week:

Monday is Day 3 (library day- please return all library books!)

Remember Parent/Teacher interviews coming up this Thurs/Fri. There is NO School¬†Friday.¬†If you’ve forgotten the time, please let me know!

Next Tuesday, Nov. 11, is Remembrance Day. Please note that there is no school that day.

Have a great week, and enjoy the “extra hour” today!
