Hello Parents,

It’s now January, and in Kindergarten that means we have moved on to some of the most exciting times for our learning! We have a nice long stretch without too many interruptions, which means we have lots of time to build on our learning. And January also marks the exciting step in to Guided Reading. You will be hearing more about this as the month continues, but for now, here’s what’s in store for this week:

Last week we read the Jan Brett book, “The Mitten.” We will continue with this book and add “The Hat”. We will be adding the sight words “is” and “go” to our bank of words. We will cover the letters H and L.

In math we will be finishing up Patterns.

There is no library this week, but we will be having it on Monday the 19th.

Here’s to a great week!

Mrs. Marshall

Some Things from Christmas!

Hi Parents,

Wanted to get this out to you over the holidays, but I suppose better late than never! On the 23rd our class decided to go Christmas carolling around the school. I made a recording of the song and poem. The song is “Up on the Housetop” and the poem is “Funky Snowman”. You’ll have to click on the link “Christmas songs” and download the powerpoint to hear the songs. Once you get to the Powerpoint, just click on the “play” feature! ¬†From what I understand, many of you have already heard this from your child a few times!
