Hello Parents, welcome to a new month! I can’t believe we only have 3 weeks left until the Christmas break- we’ll make the most of the though!

I want to remind everyone that there is a new English Language School Board policy about attendance. If your child misses 5 days within one reporting period, I will need to make a phone call home. If your child will be out, for whatever reason, please let myself or the school know so that our attendance records are as up to date as possible.

I hope you and your child enjoyed the rhyming ‘homework’! If your child didn’t bring it back today, that is fine. I would like them returned by the end of the week.

Speaking of the end of the week, please remember there is no school on Friday as it is a pd day.

So, on Thursday we will be having a pajama day. Everyone wear your jammies! The class is very excited about this!

This week, for literacy we will be reviewing our ‘frog jump letters’- F,E,D,P,R,B,M,N.

We are adding the sight word DO to our list.

In math we will continue to work on and expand our knowledge about patterns.

Something to keep in mind- we will be going bowling on December 16!

Have a great week!

Last week of November- it’s hard to believe, but we still have 4 weeks (and 2 days) left until our break.

This week we will continue to explore patterns in math. And in the science area we will have some objects with natural patterns in them. I think this is a great time to use our investigative skills to see what nature does.

In literacy we will continue with Mrs. Wishy-Washy and another new story. We have covered these sight words so far: see, the, can, I, a, we, in, like. We will add do to the list.

We will learn about the letters M, and N.

Mark your calendars for Dec. 16- the English Kindergarten’s are going bowling for a field trip. We had a great time last year, so I am sure we will love it again this year.

It was so great to speak with all of you about your child’s progress this year. It’s a great class, and I am so glad I get to spend this year with them. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!

Have a great week!

It’s a busy week, with lots of fun things in store! Here’s what’s up:

For Literacy we are adding “in” to our sight words (a, I, see, the, we, like, in) and we are focusing on the letter R (F,E,P,D,R). We are reading the book Mrs. Wishy-Washy.

In math we are finishing up numbers 1-5 this week. Next week we’ll move on to patterns.

On Tuesday at 11:00 we will have our Remembrance Day assembly. The focus is on Peace.

Remember there is no school Wed. Nov. 11.

Parent Teacher Interview times went home this evening. Please check your child’s bag and return the slip as soon as possible, especially if that time will not work for you. Learning Reports will be going home right before the Interviews, so we will have time to discuss your child’s progress then.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch!

Here’s to a great week!

Sorry this is late! We have a short week. Remember there is no school on Friday due to a PD day.

We are reading the book Rosie’s Walk for shared reading time. It’s a story of a hen, Rosie, who goes for a walk. But she doesn’t know there is someone following her… or does she?

For sight words, so far this year we have covered we, see, I, a, the, like. For letters we have covered F,E,D,P- in case any of you would like to have this information at home.

In math we will be finishing up Number Sense 1-5 this week. We will begin Patterns next week.

On Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 11AM we will be having our school Remembrance Day assembly. The English K classes will be reciting a short poem about peace.

Keep an eye out in your e-mail for another update- I have some pictures to share from our discovery of apples and pumpkins!

Have a great week!
