Hey Parents!

I just realized I didn’t get the blog updated last week, sorry for that! Here’s what is going on in KD this week:

Letters for the week are L and U

Sight words are is, it

Our big book is Dan the Flying Man

We will continue talking about transportation and maps.

In math we will be investigating patterns even further.

Now that winter weather is here, I just want to remind you to dress your child appropriately for the weather. It may be helpful to send in an extra pair of mitts as well as socks. We had some wet feet today!

Also remember- Friday is a Professional Development day, so there will be no school.

Keep an eye on the blog page as I hope to be uploading some pictures throughout the week!

As always, if you have any questions, please let me know!

Mrs. Marshall

Sorry for the late update parents! I wanted to touch base with the kids yesterday before I did an update, but then I didn’t get to this. Here goes:

This week we will talk and learn and do:

-Letters N, M

-Sight words: Go, To

Please remember there is no school on Friday due to Parent/Teacher interviews. I look forward to seeing everyone. Report Cards will go home on Wednesday, so if you have any questions about them, we will have a  chance to discuss them when we meet.

Other than that, it’s a fairly typical week!

This coming week will be a different one, I hope you will bear with us! Just a reminder that there will be school Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday this week. No school on Wednesday as the teachers in the Charlottetown Rural family of schools (that’s us) have a Professional Development Day, and no school on Friday in honour of Remembrance Day.

On Monday, Parent Teacher interview slips will be sent home. If the time scheduled does not suit, please let me know and we can work out a time that will. As a side note, Learning Reports will go home the day before Interviews.

Now to this coming week! We will be reading books about Canada, Remembrance Day, and Peace. Our letter will be the letter R and we will be reviewing all of the sight words covered so far this term: see, can, the, and, do.

In Math we will begin a study of patterns.

Early closure forms were sent home last week. If you have not returned it, please do so as soon as possible. When schools have to close unexpectedly during the day we need to have that information.

Have a great week!

Mrs. Marshall
